Best pizza north of Chicago! We’ve been enjoying their pizza since 1984!

I'm visiting from AZ. My brother had the wedding rehearsal dinner here for his daughter. One of the best vegetarian pizzas I've had! Worth trying even if you're not a vegetarian. It will make a convert out of you.

We are local, so we normally get our pizza delivered from Salamone's. The pizza is solid. Thin crust, regular crust, thick crust and stuffed pizzas are all available. We usually get the regular crust, and have ordered the others as well, generally for something a little different. The Margherita pizza is a favorite for my kids, but too much garlic for this old stomach. Let me break down our pizza experience: Ordering: They do get very busy, and sometimes it's hard to phone in an order. The online ordering works great for delivery and that's what I recommend. Size of pizza: The pizzas are not undersized. You order an XL, you get an XL. No bad experience in getting undersized pizzas from Salamone's! Toppings: Both the amount and the quality of the toppings are really good! No cheap ingredients, no funky tastes. In a world of pizza companies trying to cut costs, it's nice to have a place that doesn't sacrifice quality. Cheese: Good mozzarella cheese, definitely not cheap. Very tasty and not stingy at all. You order extra cheese and by golly, you get a good amount of extra cheese. Sauce: The house red sauce is amazing. It's a great sauce and it's seasoned well. Very consistent in amount and flavor. Good stuff! Crust: Our favorite is the regular thickness crust. Whichever you choose, it's a good tasting crust. Obviously, the thick crust and the stuffed pizzas will be soft, but the thing crust and the regular crust have a good crispness to them. Flavor is great, too. Nothing worse than a pizza with a flavorless crust. Not here, not at Sal's. It's a good, consistent pizza experience. There is a reason that they've been successfully open for so many years.

Hear me out on the chicken wings here. It doesn't seem like somewhere you'd go for wings, but they're actually amazing. 4/5 on the atmosphere because I don't like Frank Sinatra.

First time eating here, won't be the last! Pizza was phenomenal! Regular crust is perfectly chewy, and they don't skimp on toppings.

I had the peanut butter pizza (I think it was called The General?), and it was the best pizza I ever had. It’s a shame that I’m from out of town. I can’t go back to the same pizza I had before.
